PowerPoint Training CourseThis one-day course covers the basic functions and features of PowerPoint 2013. Students will create new presentations that include text, graphics, WordArt, tables, charts, and diagrams.

They will also edit and format slide content, and apply transition effects. Designated as Approved Courseware. For comprehensive certification training, students should complete PowerPoint 2013: Basic and Advanced.

Course objectives

After completing this course, students will know how to:

  1. Identify components of the PowerPoint interface, open and run a presentation, switch between views, and control the magnification level.
  2. Create a basic presentation and add content, arrange, insert and delete slides, and apply templates and design themes.
  3. Format text and lists, apply font styles, copy formatting, and control alignment and spacing of content on a slide.
  4. Create and edit shapes, apply shape styles, duplicate and move shapes, resize, rotate, and align shapes, and apply content to shapes.
  5. Insert and modify WordArt objects, insert and edit pictures, arrange overlapping items, and group items.
  6. Create and modify tables, apply styles to tables, insert images into tables, create and modify charts, and use SmartArt to create diagrams.
  7. Proof a presentation for errors; prepare and preview a presentation, hide slides, create speaker notes, use Presenter view, prepare a presentation for printing, and print notes, handouts, and the presentation outline.

Prerequisites

Before taking this course, you should be familiar with personal computers and the use of a keyboard and a mouse. Furthermore, this course assumes that you've completed a Windows Basic course or have equivalent experience.

Target Audience

Thetarget student for the course is an individual who wants to learn the basic features of PowerPoint to create effective presentations by using the drawing tools, clip art, WordArt, charts, and tables. You need little or no experience using PowerPoint.

Certification Track

For comprehensive training, you should complete both of the following courses: PowerPoint 2013: Basic and PowerPoint 2013: Advanced.
